Asking the Right Questions

Sometimes you cannot find the way to start. This article will guide you through the question that will ask you to the answer. Enjoy !

A Novel Pre-Writing Workshop: Asking the Right Questions
© by Holly LisleAll Rights Reserved

At the moment, in my meager spare time I'm working on building up a supply of novel ideas, so that I can start doing a bit more on-spec work (work where the writer writes the whole novel before attempting to sell it.) Without getting into why I want to do this odd thing, when it seems to be moving in precisely the opposite direction from the professional career arc, where the objective is to get more and more money for less and less advance work, I'm simply going to offer the series of questions I'm using to knock out some basic ideas that I can then refine.

Another Great How to

You cannot stope learning my friend. When you standing still, you are fallen behind :)

I wrote three novels before I got a nibble from a publisher. Several people have asked me how I managed to keep myself motivated, pushing myself to finish each one without any guarantee my work would ever be published. There's no secret sauce, I'm afraid - it very much depends on your personality and how determined you are to see things through to the bitter end.So, what does it take to write a novel? Only five or ten percent of those who embark on the process end up with a finished draft, and while I may not be an expert I can at least share the experience from the perspective of someone who has done it before. I can't promise these tips will work for you, but they might work for the next writer to come across my web site and they certainly work for me. Read more>>

Writing Your First Novel by Victory Crayne

Another good article you must read. Two thumb up :)

You finish reading another great novel and daydream about being the hero or heroine in the story. And sigh. "Some day," you promise yourself, "I'm going to write a novel of my own."

Maybe now is a good time. This article will give you the key steps to get started.

With the aging of the Baby Boomer generation, many folks are turning to thoughts of self-achievement, which may include writing a novel. Many are reaching out to see what it takes to write the novel they have held inside as a dream for years.

Many find, as I have, that having some creative writing project for their spare time is a good way to unwind after a demanding day or week at work. Most of our time is spent using our left-brain analytical skills. Spending some time using our right-brain creative skills can be a wonderful way to balance our lives. It will help you live longer too.

I have been enjoying writing part-time since 1995 and have participated in several critique groups and writing discussion groups. My genre is science fiction, no surprise if you know I have a bachelor's in physics and math. I have written several short stories, have finished one novel, and am working on my second. It's been a great trip. Yours will be too. Read more>>

How to write a novel in 100 days or less.

Good day! Today i have find really interest article. The title is "How to write a novel in 100 days or less" Wow ! I hope this is the solution for someone who can't finished their work like me :D

Writing-Novel

How many times have you finished reading a novel and said, “I could have written that book.” You know what? You’re right. All of us, I believe, carry at least one novel around in our heads or our hearts. Novelist Toni Morrison put it this way: “If there’s a book you really want to read but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.”
Writing a book is no easy task. Nevertheless, every day another book is published.
In 1996, according to Books in Print, 1.3 million book titles were in print. The number of books published in 1996 alone was 140,000 in the United States. So, why not you? read more>>

The Snowflake Method for Writing a Novel

Now come with the method for Writing a Novel it called "The Snowflake Method" sounds cool, right? let's get going !

The Snowflake Method for Writing a Novel
Feeling overwhelmed with trying to write your novel and get it organized? That happens a lot. Writing a novel is easy. Writing a good novel is hard. That's just life. If it were easy, we'd all be writing best-selling, prize-winning fiction.Frankly, there are a thousand different ways to write a novel. The best one for you is the one that works for you. In this article, I'd like to share with you what works for me. This page is the most popular one on my web site, and gets hundreds of page views per day, so you can guess that a lot of people find it useful. But you may not, and that's fine by me. Look it over, decide what might work for you, and ignore the rest! If it makes you puke, I won't be insulted. Different writers are different. If my methods get you rolling, I'll be happy. I'll make the best case I can for my way of organizing things, but you are the final judge of what works best for you. Have fun!

The Importance of Design: Good fiction doesn't just happen, it is designed. You can do the design work before or after you write your novel. I've done it both ways and I strongly believe that doing it first is quicker and leads to a better result.

A Metaphor for Design: How do you design a novel? In my day job, I'm a software architect designing large software
projects. I write fiction the same way I write software, using the "snowflake metaphor". OK, what's the snowflake metaphor? read more>>
